Mr Ihab Wissa

Mr Ihab Wissa is a highly experienced Consultant Gynaecologist who provides comprehensive care in all aspects of gynaecology, with particular expertise in minimal access (laparoscopic and hysteroscopic) surgery, fertility disorders, and menstrual problems. He sees patients at Circle Health Group hospitals and Highgate Hospital in London.

Mr Wissa graduated in Egypt in 1987, where he completed his basic training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. In 1995, he moved to the United Kingdom to undertake further specialist training across leading institutions, including Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital, Princess Royal University Hospital, Queen Mary’s Hospital, and Queen Elizabeth Hospital. He successfully completed the UK training programme, gaining the Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT), and was appointed as a Consultant in 2005.

Throughout his career, Mr Wissa has developed an outstanding reputation for his surgical skills and clinical expertise. He holds advanced certificates in laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery from the Royal College in London, reflecting his long-standing interest in minimal access techniques. His practice covers a wide range of conditions, including menstrual irregularities, fibroids, ovarian cysts, endometriosis, pelvic pain, polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), infertility, and early pregnancy complications. He also offers diagnostic and screening services for cervical abnormalities, providing colposcopy and management of abnormal smear results, as well as screening for pre-cancerous conditions and offering HPV vaccination.

Mr Wissa is known for his empathetic approach, clear communication, and commitment to patient-centred care. Fluent in English, French, and Arabic, he is able to support a diverse patient population with sensitivity and understanding. He has a particular interest in the management of pelvic pain, infertility, recurrent miscarriage, and the surgical treatment of endometriosis, and he is also experienced in performing aesthetic gynaecological surgery.

In addition to his clinical work, Mr Wissa maintains active professional memberships with the General Medical Council, the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, the Medical and Dental Defence Union of Scotland, the European Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy, the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE), and the British Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology.
