Dr Husain Shabeeh

Dr Shabeeh BSc MBBS PhD FRCP is a Consultant Cardiologist & Cardiac Electrophysiologist in London. His NHS practice is based at one of London’s premier teaching hospitals, King’s College Hospital and at Croydon University Hospital, where he is Clinical Lead for Cardiology. He also sees patients privately in several clinics across London, including his base in Harley Street.

He trained in all aspects of cardiology at world renowned cardiac centres in London including The Royal Brompton Hospital, Harefield Hospital and King’s College Hospital.

Dr Shabeeh qualified from the prestigious Guy’s, King’s College & St. Thomas’ Hospitals School of Medicine (now known as King’s College London School of Medicine) with numerous prizes. He also has a rich academic and research background and was awarded 2 competitive scholarships from the British Heart Foundation and completed a PhD in Cardiovascular Medicine from King’s College London School of Medicine. He has multiple peer-reviewed publications including his 2017 paper on blood pressure which made the front pages of national newspapers, and has delivered many national and international presentations. He has also been recognised by the International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners as a Certified Cardiac Devices Specialist. Dr Shabeeh also has an interest in using modern technology in healthcare to improve models of care.

Dr Shabeeh has a wealth of experience in treating all aspects of cardiology including: palpitations, light-headedness, dizziness, ectopics, blackouts (syncope), arrhythmia, atrial fibrillation, supra-ventricular tachycardia (SVT), postural tachycardia syndrome (PoTS), chest pain, angina, breathlessness, high blood pressure (hypertension), assessment of cardiovascular risk, lipid disorders, valvular heart disease, heart failure, heart muscle disorders.

He has a sub-specialist interest in managing patients with heart rhythm disorders. He specialises in simple and complex catheter ablation procedures using the latest technologies for arrhythmias, including atrial fibrillation. He is also experienced in implanting all types of cardiac devices including implantable loop recorders, pacemakers, defibrillators and cardiac resynchronisation therapy for heart failure. His other sub-specialist interest is patients with syncope and postural tachycardia syndrome (PoTS).
