Dr Gurminder Khamba

Born in Greenwich, London, Dr. Gurminder Khamba received his medical training at University College London Medical School. After gaining extensive general medical experience, he achieved Membership and subsequently Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians. Dr. Khamba completed Higher Specialist Training at the internationally renowned John Walls Unit at University of Leicester Hospitals in Renal Medicine and General Medicine.
Dr. Khamba has collaborated with national organizations such as HSCIC and the Royal College of Physicians to develop national standards for interoperability across healthcare systems. This work laid the foundation for Healthcare Record standards and the establishment of the PRSB. He further enhanced his expertise by obtaining a Post Graduate Qualification in Health Informatics at the Farr Institute, University College London.
Throughout his career, Dr. Khamba has developed extensive experience in managing glomerular disease, encompassing both initial management and long-term immunosuppression strategies. He possesses expertise in chronic kidney disease management and has a specialist interest in hypertension and cardiovascular risk management. 

Dr. Khamba is a Consultant Nephrologist and Physician at Mid and South Essex Hospitals Foundation NHS Trust. He also serves as the Chief Clinical Informatics Officer at the Trust. Clinically, he oversees inpatient renal and general medical inpatients, managing all aspects of inpatient care, including acute kidney injury management, initiation and maintenance of chronic kidney disease care, and renal replacement therapy. Additionally, he provides general kidney and medicine outpatient services, including specialist clinics for hypertension and glomerulonephritis. Dr. Khamba provides general medical expertise in all aspects of general medicine. He also manages the long-term care of this group in an outpatient setting.
