About Mr George Bettany
Dr Edward Bettany is a Senior Gastroenterologist and General Physician. After qualifying at The Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel, he was appointed as a Consultant at King George Hospital in 1999. In both his NHS post and his private practice, Dr Bettany has gained a wealth of experience in many areas of gastroenterology and general medicine. These include the diagnosis and treatment of stomach and bowel cancer, Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), Ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease, liver and pancreatic disease, peptic ulcer and coeliac disease.
He is a highly skilled and experienced endoscopist, performing endoscopic procedures such as gastroscopy, colonoscopy, polypectomy and ERCP on a regular basis. He also undertakes complex endoscopic interventions, including stent insertions and dilation.
Dr Bettany is married with two children and two dogs. He enjoys living in rural Essex and taking part in country pursuits.
