Dr Doug Pendse is a consultant radiologist specialising in both diagnostic and interventional uro-radiology. He is the current Clinical Lead at University College London Hospitals and also sees patients privately at the following locations:
Dr Pendse completed his primary medical degree at the University of Birmingham in 2001, subsequently completing both surgical training in Oxford and radiological training in London. Doug has been involved in the field of prostate cancer research since 2006, having conducted clinical trials in image-guided focal therapy for prostate cancer. He was awarded his research doctorate in 2011.
As an academic radiologist, Doug was appointed NIHR Academic Clinical Fellowship in 2007 and later as an NIHR Clinical Lecturer at University College London. His research work centres on the development of MRI in abdominal and urological disease.
Dr Pendse has been a consultant radiologist since 2014 and is now the clinical lead at UCLH, London. He is an expert in urological imaging, including kidney, bladder, prostate, fertility and male genital disease. He is able to offer a wide variety of urological and abdominal imaging including CT, MRI, TRUS and ultrasound.
Alongside his clinical practice, he remains actively involved in research and continues to publish widely in the use of MRI in abdominal and urological disease.
