Academic Background:
Mr Cooper is a graduate of Cambridge University. He undertook his basic surgical training at University College Hospital in London, which culminated in two years research into the molecular biology of varicose veins and award of a Master of Surgery Thesis. He continues an academic interest with over 20 papers in peer reviewed journals and numerous presentations at national and international meetings.His higher surgical training was based in both the North Eastern Thames and East of England regions, where he obtained a broad based experience of General and Vascular Surgery. He returned to Addenbrooke Hospital, Cambridge as a Senior Registrar where he completed his subspeciality training in complex Vascular and Endovascular Surgery. He was appointed as a consultant at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Trust in 2008.
