Consultant Diagnostic & Interventional Radiologist
Dr Archie Speirs is a Consultant Radiologist and Lead for Interventional Radiology at the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust, where he has been a consultant for 15 years. He also practises privately in Reading.
He specialises in minimally invasive image-guided procedures, with particular expertise in varicocele embolisation and selected spinal interventions including vertebroplasty. He performs a broad range of interventional radiology procedures and is known for a calm, pragmatic approach focused on durable results and patient comfort.
Dr Speirs has extensive experience in cardiovascular, spinal, urological and hepatobiliary imaging, which underpins his interventional practice and ensures careful case selection and procedural planning.
He works closely within multidisciplinary teams in urology, hepatobiliary and spinal services, providing integrated, evidence-based care.
In addition to complex interventions, he is highly experienced in ultrasound-guided procedures, including image-guided injections and drainages.
Dr Speirs trained in London and completed specialist radiology training at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital, followed by advanced interventional fellowships in London. He has presented internationally and continues to lead service development in interventional radiology.
