Dr Adrian Lord

Dr Adrian Lord qualified in medicine at Guy's Hospital Medical School in 1990. He subsequently specialised in adult and forensic psychiatry, training at Guy's and the Maudsley Hospitals, and the Institute of Psychiatry, where he was part of the Home Office Teaching Unit.

Adrian Lord has been a Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists since 1994. Previous positions have included Clinical Director for the Personality Disorder Services at Priory Healthcare, and Medical Director at Focus12, a residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation centre that offered abstinence-based recovery for alcoholics, addicts and dependency.

He is a keen advocate of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), and also the 12 Step approach to addictions. He believes medical treatment and psychological treatments should go hand in hand to achieve the best outcomes for service users.
