Dr Elza Eapen is a wonderful psychiatrist. I consider myself extremely lucky to be under her care. She goes above and beyond when caring for her patients and I owe my recovery from OCD to her!
Experience was excellent. Dr Eapen provides a calm safe space where one can be completely open and is encouraged to explore feelings. Dr Eapen is always well prepared so that her questions to you when and if they come are relevant and never offputting . Although at times the meetings are hard, progress is made and undersood.
My regular review with Dr Eapen- these appointments are so important for my mental Health and well being- Elza takes time to really hear what’s going on for me and is clearly invested in ensuring my wellbeing is maintained. It’s always a privilege to meet up with her and I have confidence knowing she is there going forward. Her approach is very professional but always open, approachable and kind. Her support team are exemplary regarding appointments repeat prescriptions and managing contact. I couldn’t do without her.
It was a very standard visit. Dr Eapen was very thorough and I left feeling reassured
Dr Eapen is wise, kind and understanding w deep knowledge and understanding as well as so much human empathy. I feel like the bond we have, is one of the strongest factors in my treatment actually working over the years. With Dr Eapen we have made meaningful improvements in both my depression and anxiety and eating disorders. I don't think I would have been able to achieve this alone with medication use. Dr Eapen has been incredible with my medication management - this goes far beyond just writing a prescription. She systematically monitors side effects, pays careful attention to drug interactions (especially w taking multiple medications), and is willing to discuss adjusting course when something isn’t working. Sam in Dr Eapen's team is super responsive and am really grateful to here for all her support with appointments and prescriptions as well. If there were 1 song to epitomise Dr Eapen it would be Tina Turner / Simply The Best.
Reviewing a psychiatrist is an impossible ask. You don't go to see them because you're in a great place. You also might not want to hear what they have to say, and their opinion on medication, or who you should speak to about therapy. You might get really pissed off with them over everything they do, if they're running late every time, or if they forget what you told them last time. Honestly, I really disliked Elza at the start. I also really disliked pretty much everything in my life at the time. So here I am, a year or so later, coming towards the end of my journey (or at least in a far better place) and now I'm in a much better place, and I can appreciate she was completely right about the medication, and she was completely right about the therapist she referred to. I can now appreciate that every time she was late for my appointment, she was almost certainly dealing with another patient who was in the shitty place I was a year ago and was asking for help because they were having a crash. So, Dr Elza Eapen was the pain in the hole that kept pissing me off and then turned in to the woman that had helped save my life, but it was me that changed, not her. I still hate that she was right about everything.......
Finding a clinician who balances profound expertise with genuine human empathy is rare. Dr Eapen delivers exactly that. She is highly experienced, remarkably responsive and consistently adaptable to my needs. During a period of physical and emotional healing, she has been an invaluable anchor. Clear, supportive and fundamentally dedicated to exceptional care. I cannot recommend her highly enough.
Dr Eapen is a wonderful listener and her empathic manner enables you to talk freely, feeling understood in the process.
Elza has been my long term consultant and most recently I have been seeing her following a period of hospitalisation following a change in medication. She has helped me stabilise on the new medication and has been very attentive and helpful during this period
Dr Eapen is an excellent Psychiatrist. She is reputable, trustworthy and provides exemplary standards of care to her patients. I highly recommend her.
