Dr Doris Iyamabo

Dr Doris Iyamabo is a dedicated Consultant Paediatrician and Consultant in Neonatal Medicine who provides comprehensive healthcare for infants, children, and young people. Specialising in acute paediatric care and complex neonatal conditions, she is committed to delivering compassionate, evidence-based treatment tailored to the unique needs of every young patient. Her clinical work focuses on ensuring high-quality outcomes for vulnerable newborns while offering reassuring guidance and clear communication to families throughout their care journey.

With extensive expertise in neonatal critical care, Dr Iyamabo manages a wide spectrum of complex conditions affecting newborn and premature infants. Her clinical focus encompasses neonatal intensive care, ventilatory support, neonatal resuscitation, and the management of neonatal sepsis and complex fungal infections. Additionally, Dr Iyamabo actively contributes to clinical research and quality improvement initiatives, including early infection screening protocols and best-practice procedures for neonatal intubation, ensuring that clinical care remains at the forefront of modern paediatric medicine.

Dr Iyamabo earned her primary medical qualification, receiving a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). Demonstrating her commitment to clinical standards and specialist training in child health, she completed postgraduate examinations to earn Membership of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (MRCPCH). In addition to her clinical responsibilities, Dr Iyamabo plays an active role in medical education and departmental leadership as a Joint College Tutor, mentoring medical trainees and supporting high standards in neonatal and paediatric care.
