Dr Dinesh Rawat

Dr Dinesh Rawat is a compassionate and highly skilled Consultant Paediatric Gastroenterologist who provides specialised medical care for infants, children, and young adults. Focusing on general paediatrics, gut health, and complex liver conditions, Dr Rawat is dedicated to diagnosing and managing a wide range of gastrointestinal, hepatic, and nutritional disorders. Dr Rawat earned his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University in 1997. He completed postgraduate medical training in paediatrics, earning a Doctor of Medicine (MD) in Paediatrics in 2001, followed by a Doctorate of Medicine (DM) in Paediatric Hepatology from the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research. He subsequently underwent advanced specialist training in the United Kingdom, obtaining his Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Paediatric Gastroenterology and Hepatology.

Throughout his career, Dr Rawat has developed extensive expertise in managing both routine and complex paediatric digestive and liver conditions. His clinical work encompasses inflammatory bowel disease, coeliac disease, gut dysmotility, gastro-oesophageal reflux, chronic liver disease, portal hypertension, and neonatal cholestasis. He possesses particular expertise in managing intestinal failure, short bowel syndrome, and home parenteral nutrition, as well as providing pre-transplant and post-transplant care for children undergoing liver transplantation.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr Rawat maintains a keen interest in clinical research, particularly in the fields of transplant immunology and autoimmune hepatitis. He works as part of a multi-disciplinary team alongside dietitians, nurse specialists, and paediatric surgeons to provide comprehensive care.
