Dr David Rix

Dr David Rix is a Consultant Urological Surgeon who provides high-quality care for patients with a wide spectrum of urological conditions. Specialising in both benign and cancerous disorders of the urinary tract, he delivers compassionate, patient-centred medical and surgical care. His clinical practice focuses on accurate diagnosis, personalised treatment planning, and advanced surgical interventions tailored to meet the individual needs of each patient.

Dr Rix possesses extensive expertise across key sub-specialties in modern Urology, with a strong focus on the management of urinary tract stones and kidney disorders. He specialises in minimally invasive procedures, utilising state-of-the-art robotic-assisted surgery, including the DaVinci surgical system, to perform precise operations for both malignant and benign renal conditions. Furthermore, Dr Rix maintains a major clinical role in renal transplantation, regularly conducting kidney transplant surgeries as well as donor operations.

Dr Rix earned his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from Newcastle University in 1989 before completing higher specialist training in urology. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS Urol) and a registered member of the British Association of Urological Surgeons. Alongside his clinical practice, Dr Rix has actively contributed to clinical leadership and educational initiatives aimed at advancing patient outcomes and surgical standards.
