Mr Danson Muttuvelu

Mr. Danson V. Muttuvelu is a highly esteemed Senior Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon, specialising in refractive surgery and complex cataract surgery. With over 10,000 procedures performed, he is recognised as a leader in his field. Dr. Muttuvelu holds MD and FEBO qualifications and practices in both Denmark and the United Kingdom.

As a co-founder and the immediate past-chair of the Danish Cataract and Refractive Society, as well as a past chair of the Society of Young Ophthalmologists in Denmark, Mr. Muttuvelu has made significant contributions to the advancement of ophthalmology in his country. He also served as a representative for the European Society of Ophthalmologists (SOE-YO).

In addition to his clinical work, Mr. Muttuvelu is the co-founder of one of the largest e-health companies providing telemedical solutions and innovative eye-care solutions to local governments and industries. He is an active member of several medical industry advisory boards, further showcasing his expertise and dedication to advancing the field of ophthalmology.

Mr. Muttuvelu is also an advocate for improving access to eye care worldwide. He actively participates in non-governmental organisations that provide cataract surgeries and has co-established a non-profit eye clinic.

As a passionate lecturer, he shares his extensive knowledge with ophthalmologists, optometrists, and MBA students across Europe, making him a respected figure in the global ophthalmic community.
