Dr Danielle Brogden

Dr Danielle Brogden is a highly skilled Consultant General Surgeon with a sub-specialist interest in colorectal surgery. She is dedicated to providing comprehensive, patient-centred care, combining advanced surgical techniques with a compassionate approach. Her clinical practice encompasses a wide range of general and colorectal procedures, with a particular focus on both elective and emergency general surgery. Dr Brogden is committed to ensuring that her patients receive the highest standard of treatment, tailored to their individual needs and circumstances.

Her areas of clinical expertise include the management of colorectal malignancies, inflammatory bowel disease, and benign ano-rectal conditions. Dr Brogden is highly proficient in performing both laparoscopic and open surgeries, as well as diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy. She has a profound interest in the screening, diagnosis, and treatment of anal intraepithelial neoplasia and human papillomavirus (HPV)-related anogenital lesions. Through her extensive clinical work, she actively contributes to the development of national guidelines aimed at improving outcomes for patients with complex colorectal and anal conditions.

Dr Brogden's academic background is distinguished by several advanced qualifications. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science with Honours and went on to earn her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery with Honours. Demonstrating a strong commitment to medical research, she also completed a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) focusing on the demographics and risk factors associated with anal squamous cell carcinoma. Dr Brogden is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons. Furthermore, she is an active member of the Association of Coloproctology of Great Britain and Ireland, where she serves as the Chair of the Early Years Consultant Network and is a valued member of the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee.
