I can’t thank Dr Stott enough for the safe arrival of our baby. At every stage of pregnancy he explained all the information calmly, clearly and with compassion, even as my preferences changed at the last moment. While Dan is clearly an excellent obstetrician, his approach is also very human and felt consultative. The C section itself was a very calm and pleasant experience, and I’ve recovered well. I would highly recommend Dr Stott!

Explanation

From the moment we first contacted Daniel, we were delighted that he responded quickly and attentively, always being very clear on every point under discussion. When we met in person this only got better, with Daniel always very concerned to transmit calmness and clarity to us throughout the process, as well as outlining his way of working and whether this was in line with what we were looking for. All of this was constantly maintained during the subsequent appointments we had with him. On the day of the birth, we called him around 2am and he responded immediately, calmly reminding us of the steps to follow and asking us to come to the clinic, where we met him before 3am. After this, he accompanied us through the whole labour process, explaining how everything was evolving in a clear and precise way until the decisive minute had arrived. At this point he was, as always, impeccably professional and explained to us how the last minutes before we had our child with us would progress. He always explained to us how everything was progressing, until the final point where he explained to us that given the level of progress in the process we had more than one way to go. And when we asked him which one he would recommend, he was very clear and precise in explaining to us what he thought was the best way, why, and what risks were associated with it, which were almost non-existent. In the end Daniel delivered our son through natural delivery along with the use of a cup (Kiwi) and everything went amazing. Now we are just waiting to have the next meetings with him to check that everything is ok for us to be officially discharged. Therefore, in a process that always includes a good amount of fear and anxiety, Daniel was an excellent professional with an excellent approach towards us, which at all times gave us the peace of mind and calm we needed to live through a process like this. We would definitely have our second child with Daniel again and we would absolutely recommend him!

Dr Stott took me on at about 35 weeks for what was a fairly complicated pregnancy (gestational diabetes, fibroids, elevated BP and a cerclage at 22weeks). My pregnancy had also been managed in two different countries across two continents which could present a whole set of unknowns for most consultants. Nonetheless, Dr Stott immediately put me at ease at our first meeting and never made me "feel" like my pregnancy was high risk. I found this invaluable for my anxiety and meant I could relax knowing my care was in good hands. He always let me know of my options and the most recent evidence/research on different issues so I could make an informed decision. I am now holding my beautiful daughter after a smooth elective C-section which was managed without fault. His aftercare has been great too. Overall, I would highly recommend, and if I have baby number 2 he will definitely be my first choice!

I was fortunate enough to be seen by Dr. Dan at the MFAU at UCLH 21 weeks into my pregnancy when I was experiencing some complications. Given the nature of the problem, Dan’s calm and matter-of-fact style was exactly what was needed. Dan also happened to be on duty a few weeks later when I went into extreme pre-term labour at 24 weeks. He provided the various options that were available to us in a very clear manner and remained calm throughout. This played an enormous role in our own state during an incredibly difficult situation. I feel very fortunate to have been taken care of by Dr. Dan and the NHS. Prenatal, labour and post natal (NICU) care for my baby and I was world class.

Mr Stott is one of the top obstetricians I have met in my pregnancy journeys. Very knowledgeable, supportive, excellent bedside manners and highly respected in his field. It has been a tough journey for me and I had also transferred my maternity care and was checked into Mr Stott’s clinic. He has gone beyond the call of duty to link me with the right specialists during the first consultation and provided the right level of support during my delivery given my history of needle phobias. I will be requesting Mr Stott’s care for my future pregnancies as well
