Fitzrovia Suite

Thanks to the very knowledgeable midwifes team who was kind and helpful (including via the hotline in the following days). We learnt a lot about our baby thanks to them. Our anesthesist Dr Shaima did everything possible so the epidural worked and this was much appreciated. Amenities and food are very good.

A Wonderful Experience at the Fitzrovia Suite We had a wonderful experience at the Fitzrovia Suite, and so much of that was down to the incredible midwives who looked after us and our baby. There are so many midwives who made a real difference during our stay — Amy, Lucy, Charlie, Teresa and Adwah are just a few who immediately come to mind. They were all incredibly professional, kind, attentive and, most importantly, genuinely listened to us and understood what we needed as new parents. Amy was absolutely amazing. She really bonded with us and went above and beyond in supporting me, particularly with lactation and breastfeeding. Her patience, encouragement and practical support helped me enormously at a time when I was still finding my feet. I will always remember how cared for and supported she made me feel. The midwives also looked after our baby so thoughtfully, giving us the opportunity to get some much-needed rest while knowing that our little one was in safe and caring hands. That support was invaluable during those early days. They never made us feel like we were asking too much, and they were always willing to answer questions, reassure us and support us without judgement. The rooms were clean, comfortable and well maintained, which made the overall experience very positive. The one area I feel could be improved is the food and catering service. The quality and choice of food could be better, and I felt the catering team could perhaps be more aware of the needs and routines of new parents. At times, it wasn't always clear when someone would come to take food ...

Very good. Great experience

We cannot recommend the Fitzrovia suite high enough. All the mid wives who looked after us during our 5 night stay were exceptional. They were both caring and knowledgable, but also a great laugh when it was needed. The rooms are great with your own bathroom, and my husband could stay on a chair that flattened and turned into a bed. The whole experience was so positive, and it certainly made the transition of a huge life change as smooth as possible! Thank you to all the staff for their kindness and compassion! I will be returning if I have a second!

Fantastic midwives and assistants, especially Leslie, Sarah, Adwoa, Dammy, Tamir, and Mariam. They took such wonderful care of me and showed a great level of care for my wellbeing and recovery. Thank you! This is my second time delivering at the Fitzrovia, and I would say that the food options are not great and could use some revamping. I would also add that the consistency of pain relief doses could be improved, especially overnight and as shifts change.

The midwives were all professional, kind and supportive. During the two days I stayed in hospital after giving birth, they gave me a great deal of help and encouragement. They brought my medication at the appropriate times, showed me how to feed my baby and shared many practical tips on caring for a newborn. Their warmth and kindness made my hospital stay feel very reassuring and well cared for.

I stayed at the Fitzrovia Suite for two nights following the birth of my baby and for a further two nights during an unexpected admission due to health complications. During my time there, I had the privilege of meeting around 20 midwives and maternity support workers, and I can honestly say that they are among the most professional, compassionate, and supportive healthcare professionals I have ever encountered. Every member of the team went above and beyond to ensure that both my baby and I felt safe, cared for, and supported. The level of attention, kindness, and dedication we received was truly exceptional and made an enormous difference during a very emotional and vulnerable time. I will be forever grateful to Ravinder, Sarah, Amy, and our guardian angel, Aga, who stood by us through both the happiest and most challenging moments. Their unwavering support, encouragement, and genuine care helped us navigate every obstacle and gave us the strength and confidence to keep going. A special mention to my anaesthetist John, whose calm reassurance and expertise made me feel safe throughout the procedure. I had been particularly anxious about the spinal anaesthetic, but his skill and gentle approach meant that it felt no more than a tiny mosquito bite. The care we received at the Fitzrovia Suite was nothing short of outstanding, and I will always look back on my experience there with immense gratitude.
