Fitzrovia Suite patients frequently commend the staff for being kind, caring, supportive, attentive, and calm. Excellent antenatal and postnatal care offers invaluable support with breastfeeding and baby care, allowing parents essential rest. The clean, comfortable, private rooms and valued access to NHS facilities for complications are also key aspects. Patients commonly refer to private maternity, comprehensive pregnancy care, and support for both C-sections and vaginal deliveries.
Great experience at the Fitzrovia Suite. It’s a very tranquil and calm environment. The midwives were all excellent and offered me a lot of guidance and support during and after Labour. The consultant anaesthetist, John, was exceptional- very calm and made my labour very pleasant. The midwives looked after our baby following my Labour so I could recover and go home feeling fresh. The only downside is the food could be better (and where the Portland probably out performs Fitz)…but that wasn’t a deal breaker for us. Rooms very modern, spacious, and clean. Would highly recommend.
I recently stayed in the Fitzrovia Suite following a C-section. The level of care from the midwifery team was absolutely exceptional. The midwives were some of the most wonderful people I’ve met. They were so attentive, professional and incredibly kind. It made my transition into postpartum so much easier and I don’t think I would’ve been able to breastfeed etc in the way I’ve been able to had I not had their support. They provided a level of support that made my recovery so much smoother. The Fitzrovia Suite offers a calm, supportive environment and the team there is incredible. I cannot thank them enough for getting my journey into motherhood off to such a positive start.
The midwifes at the Fitzrovia suit are amazing - they were always there for us and gae great support with breastfeeding.
Really nice . The staff is very friendly and so helpful
From our very first appointment through to our planned C-section and postnatal recovery, Dr Chawla delivered care that was truly exceptional in every sense. As Postnatal Lead at UCH, she coordinated and led her entire team with impressive precision and calm authority, ensuring every stage of our experience felt seamlessly managed and deeply considered. Her clinical thoroughness was evident well before the delivery itself: having identified myomas during the antenatal period, she conducted thorough and careful scans to fully understand the complexity ahead and ensure the safest possible outcome for both mother and baby. The surgery was accordingly complex, with the myomas removed as part of the procedure, and Dr Chawla navigated every aspect of it with exceptional skill and composure. What stood out throughout, beyond her clear clinical expertise, was her extraordinarily warm and reassuring bedside manner, with a rare ability to make us feel genuinely at ease during one of the most significant and demanding moments of a family’s life. The postnatal care she oversaw carried that same standard of excellence, and we left UCLH as a new family feeling extraordinarily well looked after and deeply grateful for everything Dr Chawla did for us.
Staff are great and the facility is good. Can be crowded when all rooms are occupied, but the overall experience is good. But there is one thing to note - from all signed documents and given paperwork, not a single sentence noting that you will be moved to C section package once needed even if you choose the natural delivery initially. We thought we would pay for natural delivery because we reserved for it and not a single word saying this changes will be applied. From our own understanding, only if we actively shift from natural delivery to c- section we would need to pay, not in emergency situation. Anyway, despite clearly noting extra nights will be charged, and other extra charges I.e. epidural will be charged separately, this is not noted at all. So we do feel being cheated - if we fully understand that we may get a c-section price in emergency, we may simply choose c-section initially, then not necessarily Fizrovia Suite, or maybe also consider through NHS. Anyway we feel this is intentionally made ambiguous, and feel very bad about it. Overall, all the medical staff are very lovely, friendly, professional and supportive, but not those who designed the contract. They really ruined the effort of people who actually worked hard and delivered excellent services.

The Fitzrovia Suite was everything we expected and more. The privacy, support, and rest we were able to enjoy during our stay were truly priceless. This was especially clear given that mummy and baby had to remain in the hospital for six nights in total, four in the Fitzrovia Suite and two on the NHS, so we can genuinely compare the experiences. The room gave us the space to get to know our daughter without distraction and in complete comfort. Small but meaningful details such as having our own shower, proper sleeping and food arrangements for Daddy, and the peace and quiet, allowed us to focus entirely on the health and recovery of both mummy and baby. We received invaluable support from midwives, doctors (for both mummy and baby), and nurses. A few things stood out that simply wouldn’t have been possible through the NHS: the speed at which we were seen, and the level of hands‑on involvement from the midwives. For example, we were able to leave our baby in their care so that mummy and daddy could rest, including overnight. By the end of our stay, we genuinely didn’t want to leave. The kindness, attentiveness, and warmth shown by every member of staff at the Fitzrovia Suite made our experience incredibly special, and we will always be grateful. Lastly, the ability to transition seamlessly into NHS care when needed was invaluable. When mummy developed preeclampsia and required 24 hours in a separate observation unit, having access to NHS facilities meant she received the right care without the worry of an overwhelming private medical bill, something that could have bee...
Read moreI couldn’t speak more highly of the amazing team at Fitzrovia - they were endlessly kind and attentive throughout my whole stay. The Midwifes were all kind and thoughtful and made our stay there so enjoyable. We had a big, lovely room which was cleaned regularly and the food on offer was varied and nice.
Really pleased to have chosen Fitzrovia for the birth of our son. We contemplated the Portland but due to complications in the delivery of my first child, we felt more comfortable giving birth in a setting with NHS hospital facilities available if needed. Room was comfortable, spacious and quiet. Midwife team were attentive, proactive and compassionate. Only downside was that there is no access to a birthing pool (though private bathroom with spacious shower facility which could be used during labour instead).
