Dr Daniel Baynes

Dr Daniel Baynes is an experienced Consultant Physician specialising in General (Internal) Medicine and Acute Medicine. He provides expert diagnostic evaluations and patient-focused care for adults presenting with a wide array of acute and long-term medical conditions. Dr Baynes is committed to delivering high-quality, evidence-based medicine that is tailored to the individual needs of each patient, ensuring clear communication and reassuring support throughout their care pathway.

His clinical interests focus on the rapid assessment and management of complex medical emergencies, as well as the application of bedside diagnostic technologies. Dr Baynes has advanced expertise in point-of-care ultrasound, serving as a recognised supervisor for Focused Acute Medicine Ultrasound (FAMUS) and Focused Ultrasound in Intensive Care (FUSIC). His clinical work frequently involves thoracic ultrasound, abdominal and renal imaging, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) assessments, and diagnostic procedures such as lumbar puncture.

Dr Baynes earned his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) from the University of Sheffield in 2014. Following his primary medical education, he completed extensive postgraduate training in Acute Medicine and General (Internal) Medicine. He is an active member of professional bodies including the Society for Acute Medicine and remains deeply involved in clinical education, mentoring junior doctors in advanced ultrasound techniques and acute patient care.
