Dr Cristina Matei

Dr Cristina Matei is a compassionate Consultant Paediatrician who provides comprehensive medical care to newborns, infants, children, and young people. Specialising in Paediatrics, Dr Matei diagnoses and manages a broad spectrum of acute and chronic paediatric conditions. Her practice focuses on delivering child-centred, reassuring care that supports the healthy development and overall well-being of young patients while offering clear guidance to their families.

Dr Matei possesses specific clinical interests in paediatric diabetes and endocrinology. She works extensively on improving the early identification and management of Type 1 diabetes in children, with a primary focus on preventing diabetic ketoacidosis through early diagnostic awareness. Her endocrine expertise includes evaluating growth concerns, thyroid conditions such as hypothyroidism, and pubertal development issues including delayed puberty. In addition, her clinical practice covers general paediatric health, including childhood asthma, infectious diseases, developmental concerns, neonatal care, and initial paediatric cardiology assessments.
