Dr Clare Onyon

Dr Clare Onyon is an experienced Consultant Paediatrician who provides expert care for infants, children, and young people. Specialising in General Paediatrics and Paediatric Respiratory Medicine, she serves as a clinical lead for complex childhood respiratory conditions. In her day-to-day practice, Dr Onyon offers comprehensive inpatient and outpatient consultations, focusing on delivering compassionate, family-centred medical care to support the physical health and well-being of young patients.

Dr Onyon completed her primary medical degree (MB BChir) at the University of Cambridge, qualifying in 1999. Demonstrating a strong commitment to medical education and professional development, she serves as a Training Programme Director for regional paediatric education. She is also actively involved in national specialist organisations, serving as a committee member for the British Paediatric Respiratory Society.

In her specialist clinical practice, Dr Onyon focuses on managing complex lower respiratory tract conditions, including cystic fibrosis, bronchiectasis, and severe childhood asthma. She is dedicated to advancing paediatric respiratory therapies, with special interests in high flow respiratory therapy, asthma management, and sustainable inhaler prescribing.
