Dr Christopher Perera

Dr. Christopher Perera is a highly experienced Consultant Anaesthetist with a particular interest in dental sedation and anaesthesia. 

Dr. Perera completed his Specialist Registrar training at the prestigious Leeds and Cardiff Schools of Anaesthesia. In recognition of his expertise and proficiency, he was awarded the Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training in January 2000. Subsequently, he served as a Consultant in Anaesthetics and Intensive Care Medicine at East Kent University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust for an impressive 19 years. During his tenure, he also held the esteemed position of Head of Department of Anaesthetics and Intensive Care Medicine for 6 years.

While officially retired from his NHS position, Dr. Perera continues to be actively involved in private healthcare, practising at Spencer Private Hospital Margate. In this capacity, he provides anaesthetic care for a range of procedures, including those related to orthopaedics, podiatry, dental, and oro-facial and maxillary specialties. One of his notable skills is his expertise in balanced conscious sedation for dentistry.

Dr. Perera is a member of the Association of Anaesthetists of Great Britain and Ireland, demonstrating his commitment to professional development and staying current with advancements in his field. Additionally, he is a member of the Medical Defence Union of Scotland, ensuring that he adheres to the highest standards of clinical practice and patient care.
