About Dr Christopher Cook

Philosophy:
As a multi-award-winning Consultant Cardiologist, my goal is to provide thoughtful, evidence-based care that ensures you feel informed and supported. I believe the best cardiology starts with listening carefully and working together to create a clear plan for your heart health.

Clinical Expertise:
I specialise in helping patients manage symptoms such as chest pain, breathlessness, and palpitations, alongside expert advice on blood pressure and cholesterol. I have a particular interest in valvular heart disease, with specialist expertise in pioneering, minimally invasive heart valve treatments (including TAVI and TEER). These advanced therapies allow many of my patients to be treated effectively without the need for open-heart surgery.

Academic & Professional Background:
To ensure the highest standards for my patients, I have always focused on achieving clinical excellence. I graduated from University College London with Distinction and a First Class degree in Physiology, where I was awarded numerous academic prizes and the prestigious University of London Gold Medal in Medicine (Proxime Accessit).

Clinical training:
I completed my specialist cardiology training at the UK's premier heart centres, including the Royal Brompton, Harefield, and Hammersmith Hospitals. This clinical foundation was paired with a PhD from Imperial College London focused on coronary artery disease, followed by a subspecialist Fellowship in structural (valvular) heart disease at the Essex Cardiothoracic Centre, where I now serve as an NHS Consultant.

A Personalised Approach:
Beyond my research and international lectures, my focus remains on the individual. Patients often value my calm, supportive approach and clear explanations. Whether seeking a diagnosis or a specialist second opinion, I am committed to providing the clarity and expertise you need to move forward with confidence.
