THH are proud to present our dedicated Cardiac Private Patient Unit, The Oak Suite.
The Oak Suite provides consultant-led, private care within a specialist clinical environment, offering access to advanced diagnostics, theatre support, and personalised recovery services.
It is located within the Essex cardiothoracic centre (ECTC), which is a specialist tertiary cardiothoracic hospital providing high quality healthcare to the south of England.
The Oak Suite is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, latest technologies, excellent staff and has strong links to research and innovation that help bring the latest evidence based care to our patients.
At The Oak Suite, you can enjoy the additional comfort of your own private accommodation, flexibility of services and dedicated nursing and consultant team while being cared for within one of the country’s leading Cardiothoracic Tertiary Centres, the Essex Cardiothoracic Centre.

The staff at the Brook Suite were both friendly and professional. It is a tragedy that this unit has closed as it should have, given competent management and administaration, provided a service which would supplement the income of a NHS under severe financial pressure.
I had the surgery in Basildon Cardiothoracic Centre on Thames ward (on option to choose this on previous screen). I could not fault Dr Srinivasan and the recovery post operation has been very quick and virtually pain free.
Wonderful NHS as it should be.Happy staff not pushed to hard
Friendly, considerate and helpfull staff.Excellent catering! Car parking awful.
