Dr Charles Bircher

Dr Charles Bircher is a highly dedicated Consultant Obstetrician specialising in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. With a reassuring and patient-centred approach, he is committed to providing high-quality care to women throughout their pregnancy journeys. Dr Bircher has a particular interest in high-risk obstetrics, maternal medicine, and intrapartum care, ensuring that both mother and baby receive the safest possible support during pregnancy and delivery.

In his clinical practice, Dr Bircher has served as a Labour Ward Lead and Joint Obstetric Service Director, demonstrating strong leadership in acute maternity settings. He runs specialised antenatal clinics, including dedicated sessions for managing pregnancies in women with a raised body mass index (BMI). His expertise spans a wide range of obstetric procedures and care pathways, including caesarean sections, the induction of labour, and the implementation of innovative remote care and triage systems for obstetric patients.

Dr Bircher completed his medical training at St George's Hospital Medical School before undertaking his specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. His postgraduate training included valuable international clinical experience.
