Dr. Channa Jayasena

Dr Channa Jayasena is a Consultant Endocrinologist and Andrologist with vast experience in the treatment and management of reproductive endocrinology disorders. He is also the Clinical Lead for Male Infertility and Andrology.

He aims to provide his patients with the best possible treatment, using cutting edge technology where appropriate. He consults privately at St Mary's Hospital, HCA Chiswick Hospital, and via video consultations.

Dr Jayasena qualified in medicine at Cambridge University and went on to undertake specialist diabetes and endocrinology training at a number of prestigious London hospitals and teaching centres. He then gained a fellowship with the Wellcome Trust, where he was one of the first to lead first-to-human studies on the effects of novel hypothalamic peptides on the human reproductive axis.

During his time as Consultant and Clinical Lead, Dr Jayasena has contributed to the development of state-of-the-art male infertility treatments, including microsurgical testicular sperm extraction, reactive oxygen species monitoring, and testicular mapping. He has also received multiple awards for his research and clinical practice, including the 2014 Young Endocrinologist Prize from the Society for Endocrinology in the United Kingdom.

In addition, Dr Jayasena serves as an editor for many specialist journals and has been asked to contribute to a number of medical textbooks. He is involved in the development of clinical guidelines as well as the training of other physicians in the United Kingdom and internationally.
