Dr Cathrine Holland

Dr Cathrine Holland is a highly accomplished Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecological Surgeon specialising in gynaecological oncology and complex surgical care. With a practice centred on providing compassionate, reassuring, and patient-focused medical care, Dr Holland supports women through comprehensive diagnostic evaluations and individualised treatment plans. Her work encompasses the management of both benign and malignant gynaecological conditions, ensuring patients receive thorough guidance throughout their care.

Her clinical work spans advanced surgical techniques, with a strong focus on minimally invasive procedures such as laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery and colposcopy. Dr Holland has dedicated significant focus to gynaecological cancer surgery, including risk-reducing surgical procedures for women at an increased risk of developing ovarian or uterine cancer. She established sentinel node surgery for the management of vulval cancers to reduce surgical morbidity while maintaining optimal treatment outcomes. Beyond surgical care, she actively contributes to medical research in endometrial cancer and ethical oversight within medical practice.

Dr Holland graduated in Medicine from Nottingham University, qualifying in 1992. She completed her specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology across Nottingham, Derby, and East Anglia, followed by higher sub-specialty training in gynaecological cancer surgery in Cambridge. Alongside her clinical training, she was awarded a PhD from Cambridge University for her research into uterine cancer. Dr Holland holds Membership of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (MRCOG) and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), having previously served on the Academic Committee of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.
