Dr Caroline May is a highly accomplished Consultant Paediatrician and Consultant Neonatologist dedicated to providing comprehensive, compassionate care for infants, children, and young people. With a deep commitment to patient-centred medicine, Dr May works collaboratively with families to deliver tailored treatment plans that support long-term health, well-being, and early childhood development. Her clinical practice is characterised by an empathetic and reassuring approach, ensuring that parents feel supported and thoroughly informed throughout every stage of their child's care.

Specialising in neonatal medicine, foetal medicine, and paediatric respiratory care, Dr May possesses extensive expertise in managing complex conditions affecting newborn and premature infants. Her areas of clinical focus include chronic lung disease, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, and acute respiratory conditions in young children. In addition to delivering specialised support in neonatal intensive care settings, Dr May utilises advanced diagnostic and therapeutic strategies, including respiratory physiology monitoring, mechanical ventilation, and neonatal transport management, to optimise outcomes for vulnerable infants.

Dr May completed her primary medical education with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MB BS) alongside a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree. Demonstrating a dedication to clinical science and research, she subsequently earned a Doctor of Medicine by Research (MD(Res)), focusing on cardio-respiratory physiology and developmental outcomes in premature infants. She is a Member of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (MRCPCH), reflecting her commitment to rigorous standards in postgraduate medical practice and ongoing clinical excellence.

Beyond her bedside care, Dr May maintains an active leadership role in medical education and clinical governance, having served as a Clinical Director in women's and children's healthcare services as well as a College Tutor responsible for training junior doctors.
