Dr Camelia Vaina

Dr Camelia Vaina is a dedicated Consultant Paediatrician and Clinical Lead who provides high-quality, compassionate care for infants, children, and young people. She offers comprehensive inpatient and outpatient clinical care, guiding families through every stage of a child's development and medical needs. With an objective, reassuring, and patient-centred approach, Dr Vaina works closely with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure each young patient receives holistic and supportive medical care.

Her primary clinical interests span several key fields within child health. Dr Vaina leads clinical services in paediatric diabetes, providing expert care and long-term management for children and young people living with complex metabolic and endocrine conditions. Her broader clinical repertoire includes paediatric endocrinology, paediatric oncology, and early years lifestyle and weight management for pre-school children. Additionally, Dr Vaina maintains extensive experience in acute child health, including newborn care, paediatric sepsis recognition, and the evidence-based management of infant bronchiolitis.

Dr Vaina earned her medical degree and attained Membership of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (MRCPH). She holds full registration with the General Medical Council and is included on the Specialist Register in Paediatrics. Alongside her clinical practice, she is actively involved in clinical audit, research, and the education and supervision of junior doctors, working to enhance treatment pathways and standardise paediatric care standards.
