Mr Bogdan Ivanov

Mr Ivanov is a general surgeon based at Rivers Hospital. He is also a consultant at Princess Alexandra Hospital where his case load is more than 250 per year.

He has expertise in a wide range of areas including the following:

• laparoscopic abdominal surgery,
• gallbladder surgery,
• inguinal hernia, umbilical hernia, ventral hernia, incisional hernia
• Pilonidal sinus
• small bowel resection,
• peripheral lymph node biopsy,
• mesenteric lymph node biopsy,
• appendicectomy,
• emergency abdominal surgery

He trained at the Fundeni Clinical Institute for Digestive Diseases and Liver Transplant, a prestigious teaching hospital and national tertiary centre in Bucharest. He then undertook advanced training which has given him skills in a wide spectrum of surgical techniques, including the most complex procedures. He has expertise in interventions for benign and malignant conditions of the upper and lower gastrointestinal tract, as well as hepatic, pancreatic, and biliary diseases.

Mr Ivanov moved to the United Kingdom in 2010 to undertake further training which enabled him to strengthen both his clinical and surgical skills, particularly in laparoscopic surgery. While working as a senior registrar in the UK, he also completed additional training in laparoscopic upper GI surgery and emergency general surgery.

Mr Ivanov regularly attends courses and conferences as part of his ongoing professional growth.
