Dr Benjamin Ellis

Dr Benjamin Ellis is a highly dedicated Consultant Rheumatologist who provides comprehensive, patient-centred care for individuals living with a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions and persistent pain. He approaches every consultation with empathy and clinical excellence, working closely with patients to develop personalised treatment plans that address both immediate symptoms and long-term well-being. Dr Ellis is particularly passionate about improving health outcomes for people with chronic pain and arthritis, ensuring that every individual receives supportive, evidence-based care tailored to their unique needs.

As a Specialist in Rheumatology, Dr Ellis manages broad-ranging general and inflammatory joint, bone, and soft tissue disorders. His clinical focus encompasses early diagnosis, tailored pharmacological management, and multi-disciplinary approaches to severe musculoskeletal pain and connective tissue conditions. In addition to his direct clinical practice, Dr Ellis is actively involved in health policy and healthcare innovation, championing public health approaches to pain management and advocating for patient-reported outcome measures that put the patient's voice at the centre of care.

Dr Ellis completed his medical education at Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge, and University College London, later pursuing postgraduate studies at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. He is a Member of the Royal College of Physicians, the Faculty of Public Health, and the British Society for Rheumatology. In recognition of his outstanding contributions to healthcare, equality, and public service, he was awarded an MBE in the 2024 New Year Honours list.
