Mr Aveek Mitra

Mr Aveek Mitra is a highly skilled Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon who specialises in shoulder and elbow surgery as well as upper limb reconstruction. He provides patient-centred care for a comprehensive range of orthopaedic conditions, managing acute sports injuries, traumatic fractures, and complex degenerative joint disorders. Driven by a commitment to helping patients regain mobility and live free from pain, Mr Mitra formulates individualised treatment plans tailored to each patient's specific lifestyle and functional goals.

In his clinical practice, Mr Mitra manages tendon injuries, joint instability, nerve compression, and advanced arthritis of the upper limb. He performs modern keyhole arthroscopic procedures as well as major joint reconstructions, including reverse shoulder replacement and elbow joint restoration. Whether treating shoulder dislocations, tennis elbow, rotator cuff tears, or upper and lower limb fractures, he utilises evidence-based surgical and non-surgical techniques aimed at optimising long-term recovery and joint function.

Mr Mitra completed extensive post-graduate surgical training, earning his Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2009. He subsequently obtained a Master of Science in Surgical Technology from Imperial College London in 2012, followed by his Fellowship in Trauma and Orthopaedics from the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2018. To further enhance his sub-specialist expertise, he completed advanced fellowship training in shoulder and elbow surgery as well as trauma reconstruction. Mr Mitra maintains active professional memberships with the British Elbow and Shoulder Society, the British Indian Orthopaedic Association, and Motorsport UK.
