Dr. Assem Shayah

Mr Assem Shayah is a highly qualified Consultant ENT Surgeon with over 20 years of experience. He is accredited by the General Medical Council and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons. Mr Shayah specialises in Trans-Oral Laser Surgery for benign laryngeal lesions and early laryngeal cancer. With his rich experience and training, Mr Shayah is also an expert in the management of general ENT conditions and offers many procedures such as Endoscopic Sinus Surgery, Hearing Loss Management, Head and Neck Cancer, Laryngoscopy & Pharyngoscopy, Lymph Node Biopsy, Myringoplasty and Adult Tonsillectomy. Another area of interest is the management of dizziness, he completed research and training in this at the American Institute of Balance.

Mr Shayah obtained his primary medical qualification from the University of Aleppo in 1996. Following this, he obtained a postgraduate Diploma specialising in ENT, a Diploma in Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery, and advanced ENT training as a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons.

In addition to his medical practice, Mr Shayah has been published in numerous medical journals and has presented his work to others in the field. He also teaches at Hull and York Medical School, as well as supervising and educating doctors on the foundation program.
