Dr Ashit Shah is an experienced Consultant Gastroenterologist dedicated to delivering high-quality, compassionate care for a broad spectrum of digestive conditions. Dr Shah earned his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MB ChB) degree and completed postgraduate training, achieving a Master of Medical Education (MMedEd). He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP) and holds professional memberships with regional and national medical organisations, including the British Society of Gastroenterology. Additionally, Dr Shah serves as an Accredited Trainer and Assessor with the Joint Advisory Group on GI Endoscopy, reflecting his dedication to maintaining high standards in clinical practice and medical education.

In his clinical practice, Dr Shah has developed sub-speciality expertise in inflammatory bowel disease, including Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, as well as bowel cancer screening, acute upper gastrointestinal bleeding, and clinical nutrition. As a Bowel Cancer Screening Endoscopist, he routinely performs diagnostic and therapeutic upper gastrointestinal endoscopy, colonoscopy, and polypectomy. Dr Shah is also actively involved in endoscopic simulation training and educational initiatives designed to enhance clinical skills and safety in patient care.
