About Dr Arvindra Krishnamurthy
Dr Arvindra Krishnamurthy is a Consultant Cardiologist specialising in the investigation and management of coronary artery disease. He was appointed as a Consultant Cardiologist at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in 2019, where he delivers excellent evidence-based patient-centred care, in General and Interventional Cardiology.
His clinical work focuses on percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), particularly the management of complex coronary disease. As the highest volume Interventional Cardiologist in South Yorkshire, he contributes to the regional 24-hour emergency angioplasty (Primary PCI) service in South Yorkshire and is also involved in the Chronic Total Occlusion (CTO) service based in Sheffield, receiving referrals from across the region.
Dr Krishnamurthy completed his undergraduate medical degree at the University of Manchester. He undertook his cardiology specialty training within the Yorkshire region, rotating through hospitals in South and West Yorkshire, where he completed training in both General and Interventional cardiology.
Between 2015 and 2017, he held a research fellowship with the University of Leeds, focusing on outcomes following primary PCI in West Yorkshire. This work led to peer-reviewed publications and presentations at national and international conferences, and culminated in the award of a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in 2018.
Following completion of specialist training, Dr Krishnamurthy undertook a fellowship in complex coronary intervention at the Dorset Heart Centre, prior to his appointment as a Consultant in Sheffield. He continues to be involved in clinical research alongside his NHS practice.

I had an excellent telephone consultation and all my questions were fully answered
Whilst of course no one chooses to have cardiac surgery Dr Krishnamurthy and his team were incredible throughout. Nothing was too much trouble and I was given ample opportunity to ask as many questions as I wished to. I was kept informed throughout and was even called personally after the procedures to check on my well being. I would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending Dr Krishnamurthy.

Dr krishnamurthy was excellent in putting me at ease from our introduction and during and post procedure. He spent time with both my wife and myself asking questions and clearly put the facts and assessments in terms easily understood but also in a calm professional manner but with just the right tone.
