Dr Arun Nair

Dr Arun Nair is a highly experienced Respiratory Medicine Consultant and Hon. Senior Lecturer at the Freeman Hospital & Newcastle University specialising in advanced complex respiratory medicine with special interest in lung transplantation, pulmonary hypertension and interventional bronchoscopy procedures. His MD from the University of Dundee was for his academic work in asthma and airway inflammation wherein he specifcally explored treatments for asthma  and the unfied airway.

He is a recipient of the prestigious Morriston Scadding Davies higher respiratory fellowship which led to his advanced bronchoscopy training in Germany and was a senior national research fellow in pulmonary hyertension at the Northern National Pulmonary Hypertension Centre in Newcastle. He is a current Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh and active in postgraduate training for higher specialist trainees. Dr Nair is also a member of the British Thoracic Society and the International Society of Heart and Lung Transplantation.

Dr Nair has written extensively for highly-regarded research publications, including international guidelines in transplantation. Their research continues to investigate new therapeutic management strategies in transplantation and pulmonary hypertension.
