Dr Anna Maw

Dr Anna Maw is a dedicated Consultant Paediatrician and Paediatric Neurologist who provides expert medical care to infants, children, and young people. With a thoughtful and reassuring approach to child health, she works closely with families to address complex neurological concerns, guiding parents through diagnosis, management, and ongoing care. Dr Maw is committed to ensuring that every child receives personalised, compassionate, and high-quality medical support tailored to their unique physical and developmental needs.

Dr Maw possesses extensive expertise across paediatric neurology and brain development. Her primary areas of clinical focus include complex epilepsy, paediatric neurorehabilitation, and the management of both traumatic and acquired brain injuries in childhood. She offers advanced treatment pathways, including Ketogenic Dietary Therapy and Vagus Nerve Stimulation, as well as comprehensive assessments for epilepsy surgery referrals. Additionally, Dr Maw maintains a strong interest in neurogenetics and major trauma rehabilitation, striving to help young patients rebuild their independence and quality of life following serious neurological conditions.

Dr Maw completed her initial Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry at the University of York before pursuing her medical degree (MBBS) at a medical school in London. She is a Member of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (MRCPCH). Furthering her commitment to clinical research and patient care, Dr Maw has held a CLAHRC fellowship with the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) and serves as Chair of the Eastern Child Head Injury Network.
