Dr Ann Lyons is a highly respected Consultant Colorectal Surgeon and General Surgeon dedicated to providing compassionate, patient-focused surgical care. Specialising in both emergency and elective procedures, Dr Lyons maintains a holistic approach to patient management, placing clear communication, patient safety, and individualised care plans at the centre of her practice. Dr Lyons possesses specialist expertise in bowel cancer screening, the surgical management of early and advanced colon, rectal, and anal cancers, as well as complex benign colorectal conditions. She regularly treats patients suffering from inflammatory bowel disorders, pelvic floor dysfunction, and coloproctological concerns. Dr Lyons graduated with Honours, earning prestigious medals in both Surgery and Anatomy, before completing her Higher Surgical Training in the South West Deanery. She subsequently advanced her specialist expertise through international clinical fellowships at St Mark's Hospital in London and Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto, alongside dedicated specialist training in pelvic surgery at the University of Erlangen. In addition, she was awarded a Doctorate of Medicine (MD) for benchmark research conducted at Harvard Medical School investigating immune responses to physical stress.
