Dr Andri Orrason

Mr Andri Wilberg Orrason is a Consultant Urological Surgeon at The Royal Marsden Hospital, specialising in the diagnosis and treatment of prostate and bladder cancer. His practice focuses on robotic-assisted surgery, image-guided focal therapy and complex pelvic uro-oncology and reconstruction.

Originally from Iceland, Mr Orrason qualified in medicine from the University of Iceland in 2013 with distinction. He completed his specialist training in urology at Uppsala University Hospital in Sweden, where he was appointed Consultant Urological Surgeon. Alongside his clinical training, he completed a PhD at Uppsala University investigating trends and measures of prostate cancer mortality. In 2024, he moved to The Royal Marsden Hospital to undertake a fellowship in robotic prostate and bladder surgery.

He performs robotic-assisted radical prostatectomy, radical cystectomy and urinary reconstruction, as well as image-guided focal therapy for prostate cancer. In 2026, he led the development of a new focal therapy service at The Royal Marsden using the NanoKnife system, aimed at delivering effective cancer control while preserving urinary and sexual function.

Mr Orrason has a strong background in population-based cancer epidemiology, developed through his work with the National Prostate Cancer Register of Sweden. He has authored more than 30 peer-reviewed publications, with research interests spanning prostate cancer epidemiology and mortality trends, as well as functional and oncological outcomes following robotic surgery and focal therapy.

Mr Orrason is a Fellow of the European Board of Urology (FEBU) and a member of the European Association of Urology. He is committed to working with patients to identify the treatment option best suited to their individual circumstances and priorities.
