Dr Andrew Weeks

Dr Andrew Weeks is an accomplished Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist and Professor of International Maternal Health Care. Dedicated to improving safety and health outcomes for mothers and infants, he delivers comprehensive care throughout pregnancy, labour, and childbirth. His clinical practice combines deep evidence-based knowledge with a compassionate, patient-centred approach, reassuring families through every phase of maternity care.

His sub-specialty interests lie in complex labour management, particularly during the third stage of labour. Dr Weeks possesses significant clinical expertise in managing postpartum haemorrhage, optimal cord clamping, and immediate bedside neonatal resuscitation. As a pioneer in clinical technology, he has led key projects to design specialised medical devices aimed at controlling post-birth bleeding and aiding infant resuscitation. His areas of practice also encompass labour induction, misoprostol therapy, and managing complex maternity cases.

Dr Weeks earned his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MB ChB) before completing extensive postgraduate clinical training.
