Dr Lux has extensive expertise across a broad range of paediatric neurological conditions. His primary clinical interests include complex epilepsies, infantile epileptic spasms syndrome, cerebral palsy, and foetal neurological abnormalities. He also maintains significant focus in neuro-oncology, neuro-ophthalmology, and clinical neurophysiology. Working alongside multidisciplinary care teams, Dr Lux provides tailored treatment plans designed to manage symptoms, support developmental progress, and improve overall quality of life for children.
Dr Lux completed his undergraduate medical education at Nottingham University Medical School, graduating with a Bachelor of Medical Sciences in 1985 and a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery in 1987. He completed initial training as a General Practitioner, gaining Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners in 1991, before undertaking specialist postgraduate training in paediatrics to earn Membership of the Royal College of Physicians in 1993 and Membership of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health in 1996. He subsequently completed fellowship training in Clinical Neurophysiology and Paediatric Epilepsy at Washington University. Dr Lux holds a Master of Science in Medical Statistics from the University of London, a Doctorate of Philosophy studying the epidemiology and treatment of infantile spasms from the University of Bath, and a Master of Business Administration from the Open University. He was elected a Fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health in 1997 and a Fellow of the Royal Statistical Society in 1998.
