Ms Andrea Elkan

Ms Andrea Elkan is a Consultant Ophthalmologist at Midland Eye with a distinguished career in eye care. She completed her training in Athens, Greece, and earned her Fellowship of the European Board of Ophthalmology in 2002 in Paris. With vast experience in General Ophthalmology and small incision cataract surgery, she served as a substantive Consultant at Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust from 2018 to 2022, mentoring Ophthalmology trainees.

In her current clinical practice, Ms Elkan is renowned for her expertise in General Ophthalmology, small incision cataract surgery, and YAG Laser capsulotomy. Additionally, she performs minor operations for eyelid lesions and specialises in Paediatric Ophthalmology and strabismus surgery.

Beyond her clinical work, Ms Elkan is a dedicated member of the UK-based charity "Eye Care for Zambia," providing Ophthalmology training and eye care to underserved populations.
