Dr Altaf Mangera

Dr Altaf Mangera is a Consultant Urologist who offers comprehensive assessment and care for a wide spectrum of urological conditions. Known for his reassuring and patient-centred approach, Dr Mangera works closely with individuals to diagnose complex pelvic and urinary tract concerns, ensuring that treatment plans are carefully tailored to meet each patient's personal needs and lifestyle.

Dr Mangera earned his medical degree with Honours from the University of Sheffield Faculty of Medicine in 2005. He subsequently completed advanced surgical training and was awarded a prestigious research fellowship from The Urology Foundation, culminating in a Doctor of Medicine (MD) thesis focused on tissue engineering for stress urinary incontinence. He gained further advanced fellowship training across premier European centres in Paris, Leuven, and Zurich. Dr Mangera holds professional fellowships with the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS Urol) and the European Board of Urology (FEBU), and he is an active member of the British Association of Urological Surgeons.

Throughout his clinical career, Dr Mangera has developed sub-speciality expertise in functional urology, neuro-urology, and reconstructive surgery. His clinical practice encompasses the evaluation and treatment of stress and urge urinary incontinence, neuropathic bladder dysfunction, lower urinary tract symptoms, urethral strictures, and male sexual health concerns. He is highly proficient in modern diagnostic techniques, including complex video-urodynamics, as well as advanced therapeutic interventions such as sacral neuromodulation, intravesical botulinum toxin therapy, and reconstructive surgical procedures.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr Mangera is active in academic research and medical education, serving as an Honorary Senior Lecturer and publishing widely in peer-reviewed medical journals.
