Dr Alison Skippen

Dr Alison Skippen is a dedicated Paediatrician and Paediatric Neurologist who specialises in the diagnosis and clinical management of neurological and neuromuscular conditions in children. She provides objective, reassuring, and child-focused care, ensuring that young patients and their families feel supported throughout every stage of assessment and treatment. Dr Skippen completed an extensive academic and medical education before entering specialist clinical practice. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of York and subsequently completed a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Biochemistry at University College London. She went on to achieve her medical degree from the University of Southampton. Following her medical qualification, she completed foundation training and higher specialty training in Paediatrics, followed by sub-specialty GRID training in Paediatric Neurology and a 12-month clinical fellowship focusing on spinal muscular atrophy and mitochondrial conditions.
