Dr Alison Belfitt

Dr Alison Belfitt is a highly dedicated Consultant Neonatal Paediatrician who specialises in the care of newborns and infants. In her role as a Clinical Director, she is deeply committed to ensuring the highest standards of clinical excellence and safety for the youngest patients. Dr Belfitt has a particular clinical interest in Family Integrated Care, an approach that actively involves parents in the day-to-day care of their babies, fostering stronger bonds and improving long-term health outcomes.

In addition to her clinical duties, Dr Belfitt is a passionate advocate for medical education and professional development. She serves as a Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health Tutor, where she plays a pivotal role in training and mentoring the next generation of Paediatricians. Her clinical interests also extend to simulation training, where she has contributed to developing innovative programmes designed to enhance the skills and confidence of medical staff in managing complex neonatal scenarios.

Dr Belfitt completed her medical degree and subsequently obtained her Membership of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (MRCPCH). She is a registered member of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health. Her academic contributions, including research into paediatric return-to-work programmes and sudden unexpected death in infancy, reflect her ongoing commitment to advancing the field of neonatal medicine.
