Dr Alexander Kirkham

Dr Alexander Kirkham is an experienced Consultant Radiologist who specialises in non-invasive diagnostic imaging and specialised urological radiology. Working closely with multidisciplinary clinical teams, he provides precise radiological evaluations to support accurate diagnosis, personalised treatment planning, and ongoing disease monitoring. His practice is grounded in delivering clear, reassuring guidance to patients while utilising state-of-the-art imaging technology to deliver high-quality care.

Dr Kirkham has sub-specialist expertise in uroradiology, with a particular focus on multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) for the detection and active surveillance of prostate cancer. His clinical scope encompasses a wide array of diagnostic and minimally invasive interventional procedures, including targeted ultrasound, computed tomography (CT), videourodynamics, fluoroscopy, and image-guided interventions. In addition to diagnostic reporting, he assists with minimally invasive treatments such as kidney tumour cryoablation, prostate artery embolisation, and image-guided biopsy techniques designed to minimise discomfort and maximise precision.

Dr Kirkham completed his primary medical education, graduating with Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degrees (BM BCh), before completing postgraduate specialty training in clinical radiology. He achieved Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists (FRCR) and holds a research Doctorate of Medicine (MD) investigating advanced urological imaging modalities. He remains actively involved in clinical research, peer-reviewed medical publications, and medical education, contributing to high standards of patient care in uroradiology practice.
