Dr Alec McEwan

Dr Alec McEwan is a highly respected Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist who specialises in foetal and maternal medicine. He provides compassionate, patient-centred care across a broad spectrum of women's health needs, supporting patients through complex, high-risk pregnancies as well as routine obstetric and gynaecological consultations. Dr McEwan is dedicated to delivering clear, evidence-based guidance to reassure families and empower them throughout their medical journey.

With extensive expertise in maternal-foetal health, Dr McEwan holds subspeciality credentials in fetomaternal medicine. His clinical focus encompasses advanced antenatal screening, prenatal diagnosis, non-invasive prenatal testing (NIPT), rapid prenatal exome sequencing, and the management of foetal abnormalities. In addition to his specialised obstetric focus, he offers comprehensive care for a wide array of general gynaecological conditions, placing patient dignity, safety, and wellbeing at the core of his clinical practice.

Dr McEwan earned his medical degrees (BA, BM BCh) from the University of Oxford and subsequently completed higher research to obtain a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree.
