Dr Alan Beveridge

Dr Alan Beveridge is a highly regarded Consultant Colorectal and General Surgeon who is dedicated to providing exceptional patient care. With a clinical focus on general surgery and colorectal conditions, he specialises in diagnosing and treating a wide range of gastrointestinal issues. Dr Beveridge is committed to delivering personalised treatment plans that prioritise patient comfort, safety, and optimal recovery outcomes. His clinical expertise spans both routine general surgical procedures and complex colorectal interventions.

Dr Beveridge completed his comprehensive medical education and basic surgical training in Glasgow, where he also undertook advanced clinical research. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Pathology in 1987 and earned his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MB ChB) in 1989, both from the University of Glasgow. He later obtained a Doctor of Medicine (MD) with Honours from the same university in 2003. Dr Beveridge became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow (FRCPS) in 1994 and achieved his Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) in General Surgery in 2002. He is also an active member of the Association of Coloproctology of Great Britain & Ireland.

Throughout his career, Dr Beveridge has held significant clinical leadership positions, including serving as a Multidisciplinary Team Chair for colorectal cancer and leading regional networks for early rectal cancer. His clinical interests are broad, with a particular focus on service provision, quality of care, and advanced surgical techniques. He is highly skilled in performing laparoscopic colorectal surgery, bowel cancer screenings, and various procedures for conditions such as haemorrhoids, hernias, and inflammatory bowel disease. Dr Beveridge actively contributes to clinical research and the advancement of surgical standards to ensure his patients receive the highest quality of evidence-based care.
