Mr Ajay Patil

Mr Ajay Patil is an experienced Consultant Ophthalmologist who specialises in neuro-ophthalmology and inflammatory eye disease. Dedicated to delivering compassionate and thorough clinical care, he provides comprehensive evaluations for patients presenting with complex visual disturbances, optic nerve disorders, and systemic conditions affecting vision. Mr Patil adopts a patient-centred approach, ensuring that individuals receive clear explanations, reassurance, and tailored management plans for their eye health.

Mr Patil completed his undergraduate pre-clinical medical training at Pembroke College, Cambridge, obtaining a Master of Arts degree, before completing his clinical medical degree at Barts in London. He subsequently undertook specialist Ophthalmology training in Yorkshire. Following this, he completed a specialised fellowship in Neuro-Ophthalmology and Inflammatory Eye Disease. After attaining the competitive Keeler Scholarship from the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, he undertook an international fellowship in Atlanta, USA. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists (FRCOphth).

In his clinical practice, Mr Patil evaluates and manages a broad spectrum of ocular and neuro-ophthalmic conditions. His areas of clinical interest encompass visual loss, optic neuropathies, uveitis, inflammatory eye disease, and ocular manifestations of systemic diseases. By combining advanced diagnostic evaluation with evidence-based therapies, he aims to preserve sight and improve quality of life for his patients.

In addition to his clinical work, Mr Patil plays an active role in medical education and professional mentorship. Serving in the role of Fellowship Lead, he mentors Senior Resident Doctors pursuing advanced specialist training. He also contributes to clinical research and educational courses for medical professionals, working collaboratively across specialties to uphold high standards of patient care.
