Dr Ajay Muddu

Dr Ajay Muddu is a highly dedicated Consultant Gastroenterologist who provides compassionate, comprehensive care for patients experiencing a wide range of digestive, intestinal, and liver conditions. Working closely as part of multidisciplinary clinical teams, he focuses on delivering clear diagnostic clarity and reassurance to individuals seeking advice for complex gastrointestinal symptoms. Dr Muddu prioritises a patient-centred approach, taking the time to tailor individualised care plans that support long-term well-being and health outcomes.

In his clinical practice, Dr Muddu maintains extensive expertise across general gastroenterology and hepatology. He has a sub-specialist interest in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), including ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease, as well as the management of chronic liver disorders such as liver cirrhosis. Additionally, Dr Muddu plays a key role in rapid diagnostic pathways for suspected upper and lower gastrointestinal cancers, utilising diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, including colonoscopy, to provide timely and accurate clinical evaluations.

Dr Muddu earned his primary medical qualification before completing comprehensive higher specialist training in the UK. He holds Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) and is listed on the GMC Specialist Register for Gastroenterology and General Internal Medicine. Alongside his clinical commitments, Dr Muddu holds an academic appointment as an Honorary Senior Lecturer, actively training undergraduate medical students and post-graduate junior doctors. He is also committed to clinical research, contributing to national clinical trials and multicentre studies aiming to advance treatment strategies for gastrointestinal disease.
