Dr Ganesh Sivaji

Dr Ganesh Sivaji is a Consultant Gastroenterologist at Harrogate Harlow and at The Duchy Hospital in Harrogate, which is part of Circle Health Group. He specialises in luminal gastroenterology, hepatology, and diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy. Across both locations, he treats a wide range of conditions including gastro-oesophageal reflux disease, dyspepsia, irritable bowel syndrome, ulcerative colitis, proctitis, Crohn’s disease, anaemia including iron deficiency, coeliac disease, and swallowing difficulties. He also manages all aspects of liver disease, such as hepatitis B, hepatitis C, fatty liver disease, and cirrhosis.

His procedures include small bowel capsule studies, PEG placements, feeding tube placements, colonoscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy, upper GI endoscopy (gastroscopy), and Botox injections for difficulty in swallowing.

Dr Sivaji trained in India for eight years before relocating to the UK in 1998. He completed his medical training in the UK and undertook five years of specialist gastroenterology training in Yorkshire. He was appointed as a Consultant Gastroenterologist at Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust (HDFT) in 2010. In 2016, he became the Training Programme Director for Gastroenterology, and in 2019, he was appointed Clinical Lead for the Rapid Diagnostic Pathway at HDFT in collaboration with Harrogate CCG.

He is a member of the British Medical Association and the Medical Defence Union.
