Mr Marchbank is a Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon with a particular interest in robotic surgery for lung cancer. They are also the Caldicott Guardian for the Trust, advising on confidentiality and data protection issues. Mr Marchbank has responsibilities for thoracic surgical data collection and audit. They are the previous Lead Clinician for lung cancer and former Chairman of the Lung Cancer Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) Support Group.
Mr Marchbank initiated the programme to locally train surgical care practitioners. They are the Lead Peninsula Clinical Supervisor for SCP training. They are also an Associate Lecturer at the University of Plymouth and Clinical Lecturer at Peninsula Medical School. Mr Marchbank was Chief Investigator for the ANTICS Trial and Principal Investigator for the RAMON, Fit4Surgery, ORIF, PulmiCC and SMART Trials in Plymouth.
Mr Marchbank qualified MB BS in 1988 and FRCS in 1992. They are a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS CTh), which they were awarded in 1998.
